Ahead of the curve: 5 Fashion Must-Haves for Autumn/Winter 2019

Products • 08/07/19

The world of fashion is made up of continuous and frantic movements. Where a second spent wondering will leave you falling behind. With trends changing each day and dozens of solemn fashion followers competing with one another to snatch the hottest pieces of the season, the only way to win is to be ahead of the curve. Easier said than done: it takes years of practice to identify upcoming trends based on fashion shows. But we’ve got your back. Being the home of new arrivals, we always have our eyes wide open. Find out what will keep you ahead of the curve by adopting the latest trends months before anyone else.

‘80s Are Not Dead

The obsession with reviving ‘80s trends which began last spring is not over with yet. If anything, its influence on the fashion world of today is predicted to only grow stronger. Thinking of it, this iconic era became the foundation stone of most of current trends, therefore there is no surprise its influence on today’s fashion grows continuously.

We have observed the return of neon colours earlier this year, but there is much more to ‘80s than leg warmers and perms. Satin harem trousers, one-shoulder tops, oversized jewellery and white jeans: all these antiques from a decade past are going to resurface in AW 2019. Sequins and shoulder pads may not evoke much confidence right now, but soon enough they will be a certain must-have for every fashionista.

Polka Dots

Another retro trend to make a glorious comeback and take over wardrobes this autumn is the playful polka dots print. For a long while the market has been dominated by colourful floral prints, but it is time for them to be taken over by mostly monochromatic polka dots variety. We can already see it slowly making its way into the streets and highstreet shops this summer. Although the fashionistas are not fully convinced yet this is a trend to follow, a
llow us to dismiss the doubts: this is precisely the trend to follow. Adopting polka dots print right now will surely take you ahead of the curve: it is elegant and classy in beige and monochrome, yet playful and funky in different colours. The beauty of this trend is its flexibility: different sizes, hues and patterns will resonate with any occasion, be it a day in the office or a night out.

Pink

While pink is thought to be a summer colour, we haven’t seen it much in 2019. In fact, this summer all the attention is given to greens and yellows, and even neon pink doesn’t appear as often as fluorescent yellow or lime. However, pink dresses will be a hit of AW instead, shades ranging from fuchsia and hot pink to marshmallow candy pink.

In fact, this trend goes hand-in-hand with previously mentioned return of the 80s, not only completing the era-inspired look, but complementing its key accents. According to Caroline Maguire, the fashion director at Shopbop, a lot of brands will take on the uber-feminine trend for the AW season. So, the best time to set out on a pink hunt is now.

Luxurious Hair Slides

Big chunky hair slides are already taking over Instagram and most of fashionistas have started experimenting. However, most limit themselves to pearl and shell sets, as those are an accent of Summer 2019. To stay ahead of the curve, you need to think outside the box and here’s the hint: hair slides won’t be forgotten in autumn either.

Instead of following the current trend of hair clips decorated with shells and pears, go the extra mile. Go bold and dress your hair with luxury gold set, animal prints, colourful gems . Variety will be the key to hair slides in AW 2019, so you better start building your collection now.

Bright Strappy Sandals

Victoria Beckham had already shown the world that bright shoes are a definite statement of 2019. Her bright court shoes, giving a whole new twist to overall conservative and smart outfit, shook the world of fashion. However, for those who paid close attention to upcoming trends, this was not a surprise but a confirmation.

In AW 2019 bright shoes are expected to be bang on trend. However, unlike Beckham’s statement, they will not be court shoes. The must-have of the season will be strappy sandals of vivid colours, reminding us that the summer should never end.

These are our findings based on observation of AW collection presentations, as well as hand-picking newest arrivals of the biggest fashion houses on our website. Do you want to be ahead of the curve? If so, look around Kture. We are already there.
