Designer Labels Keep on Getting More Creative with Collection Launches
In the age of pandemic, it feels as if designer labels are competing who comes up with the most creative virtual collection launch. So far we’ve had Moschino hold a puppet show, Balenciaga debuting their collection via video game, and now we have Levi’s revealing the new collection... On Snapchat!
Alongside to other designer labels, Levi’s had to come up with a new of releasing collections that would be as entertaining as they would normally be in real life. To achieve that and to claim the crown of the most creative collection release, the designer denim brand made a decision to collaborate with Snapchat and the newest collection was be released in a form of clothing for Bitmoji.
Users of the popular app can now dress virtual avatars into Levi’s newest collection. Similarly to other designer labels, such approach was taken in the light of the pandemic as well as keeping in mind growth of social media it has influenced. Snapchat is particularly popular with younger people, offering them to create a cartoon miniature of themselves called Bitmoji, which was selected as Levi’s tool to drop their new collection.
At the moment users of Snapchat have a variety of Levi’s products to customize their character, ranging from classic Sherpa Trucker Jacket to the 501 Original Fit Jeans. The Bitmojis wearing Levi’s outfits are fully displayed all over the app, including Chat, Snap Map and Bitmoji Stories.
Of course, given this was a tool to showcase the new collection, the Levi’s x Bitmoji collaboration is available to be purchased in real life. It is currently available on the brand’s website. Once upon the time we would dress our Bitmoji to look like us – and now we are dressing up to look like our Bitmoji!
