Lovers of designer trainers are in for a treat this week: many incredible collaborations we could only previously dreamed of are about to hit the stores. We’ve got giants such as Nike, Adidas and Air Jordan pairing up with other prominent brands and designers - Sacai, John Elliott and Pharrell, to name just a few - and their creations are truly breathtaking. To keep you fresh and prepared for when these trainers drop, we have prepared a list of the most awaited styles that come out this week.
John Elliott x Nike LeBron Icon Collection
Already well-known collection of John Elliott’s original Nike LeBron Icon is to be updated with three more colours, and trust us, these colours are likely to land into your wishlist the moment you see them. Staying true to the previous collection, each model will still feature the collection’s signature details we grew to love, such as leather ankle collar, LeBron 8 midsole, semi-translucent upper and heel pull tab. What makes this addition unique is that the new colourways of these designer trainers take on a lighter, neutral shades: all-white ‘Summit White’, gentle ‘Parachute Beige’ and pastel ‘Tulip Pink’. This release makes the overall excitement for Friday to come twice as strong! Just think of all the outfits you can match them with...
Sacai x Nike LDWaffle
The collaboration between these two superstar brands earlier this year was a massive hit at major Fashion Shows all over the globe, and now they are ready to drop a follow-up. The 70s running silhouette of a multi-layered design is to come out sporting new colour schemes, ranging from subdued takes of black and white versions to mad combination of green, pink, orange and yellow. Whether you’re classic or adventurous style-wise, these trainers can match the needs of every fashionista’s luxury athleisure collection needs. You better keep yourself very alert when it comes to this collection - the lovers and enthusiasts all over the country had already started queuing and refreshing online retail sites feverishly in order to get a pair.
Pharrell x Adidas ‘Now Is Her Time’ Collection
Calling out to all the ladies who know their worth: the core of this collection is to celebrate and promote female empowerment. And nothing empowers women more than brave, vivid and charismatic colours. The ‘Now Is Her Time’ collection of Adidas designer trainers consists of monochromatic colourways for multiple models that have already proved to be an all-time favourite for us ladies. They range from classic Crazy BYW to the new Adilette, bringing all the popular styles in new, bright colours that are as diverse as the women themselves. Keeping in mind this collection is aimed at the female market, Adidas also took into consideration the time and effort it takes to coordinate the outfit. For this reason, the release of the collection is followed by great news: matching apparel is soon to follow.
Supreme x Nike SB Dunk Low
Previously a Supreme exclusive, this collection is now being launched by Nike SNKRS for the wider audience a week after its first release. What makes the designer trainers of this collection unique and recognizable are the bits of luxury in their details: a star logo stitched on the lateral heel, metallic toe boxes and jewel Swooshes all add up towards a certain, subtle chic aura. The original release was made of three styles in different colours, and, thankfully, all of them will be available starting this weekend outside the Supreme stores. We are aiming to get the white and red ones!
Undefeated x Nike Kobe IV Protro ‘Black Mamba’
In late August we were graced by the four-shoe collection for Kobe Bryant Day, and now it is being updated by a new colourway. The ‘Black Mamba’ option is pretty remarkable as it represents Bryant’s nickname in its design, consisting of a black upper, white detailing and iridescent panelling to mimic snake scales. The uniqueness, exclusivity and importance of this collaboration is expressed by a five-stake logo on the left tongue, heel panel and Bryant’s “8” and “24” on each heel.
Air Jordan III ‘Knicks’
Michael Jordan’s are generally the brand most loved by us at Kture, so this release is particularly exciting for us. We could not resist the unique orange detailing on the tongue and midsole, grey elephant print panelling and that chic white tumbled leather upper. The blue liner gives a beautiful colour contrast that will liven up any outfit; as well as paying tribute to the NBA franchise. What makes these shoes truly collectable is an easter egg - the inner tongue of each shoe as the date “04.08.88”, referencing to the date MJ dropped 40 points on the New York Knicks, reaping a 131-122 victory.
Nike Adapt Huarache
Nike is releasing a whole new line this Friday, consisting of an auto-lacing silhouette with a sock-like upper. It will debut in white and yellow colourways, however we expect seeing more colour variations soon. The main attribute of this style is a power lacing system which makes these shoes suitable for many activities (including hectic London commute!) and incredibly fun to wear.
These are the biggest releases we expect to see this week. Keep your eyes open…We might be the home of new arrivals, but we guarantee these will sell like hotcakes!
