Cara Delevigne hung up her modelling shoes in 2015 to focus on her acting career, but the razzmatazz of New York city mixed with jewelled Jimmy Choos has lured her back.
Cara is the face of Jimmy Choo's latest campaign: 'Shimmer in the dark.' The campaign starts with Cara checking over a pair of jewelled boots via a Jimmy Choo window display, only for her to raise her foot in the air to signify an immediate smugness of "Yea I got them".The film shot by Lorin Askill, sees a mini dress clad Cara strut, and I mean strut through the sidewalks of New York city. With each step, a male bystander eyes her up and down, with each complimenting her shoes "nice shoes lady," in a true NY accent. All that is missing is the builders wolf whistle.
Why Cara Delevigne? Jimmy Choo’s creative director Sandra Choi said Delevingne’s “fun-loving, but glamorous” attitude was perfect as she embodies the new collection, a very skillful move from Jimmy Choo.
The scene even sees her stop for a hot dog at one point at what appears is her local. Jimmy Choos and Wieners are a heady combination, a diet we could only wish to live on. As Cara shimmers her way in the dark to the end destination, a nightclub called 'I Want Choo'. All of this is set to a truly brilliant 70's soundtrack choice of George McCrae's - I get lifted.
The cognoscenti will know that Jimmy Choo x Annabels (the private members club) hosted a disco fever party the other night at the London Bond Street flagship named 'I Want Choo,' with Hugo Heathcote taking hold on the 1s and 2s. Which leads us to think did Cara walk all the way from NY to London? Boots made for walking anyone..?
The rest of the campaign shown on the right was shot by British photographer Tom Craig for the Jimmy Choo Cruise 2018 collection.
