According to the luxury fashion brand, this 3D technology will now become one of the cornerstones for Burberry’s merchandising model. The new process is expected to become a staple tool in print creation for it is viewed to be a sustainable, efficient and creative way.
Luxury fashion is known to produce a lot of wastage and thus the new technology will be helping to fight that. Burberry has confirmed so far, the software has allowed them to reduce paper usage by two-thirds for it is now a lot easier to create accurate samples with fewer iterations.
The new software, Mark Morris, senior vice president of digital commerce at Burberry remarked, is one of the examples when an unlikely collaboration becomes a game-changer. With a lot of creative ideas and brainstorming, the way of connecting luxury fashion to the gaming industry has been found in a vision that would make both markets come together. To make their vision come life, Burberry has collaborated with Koffeecup.
The results can already be seen: the first products designed using the software have been included in Burberry's pre-fall 2020 collection.
The managing director at Koffeecup, Thomas Michelou, has expressed being pleased with the results achieved through the collaboration with Burberry. According to him, this was a great opportunity to leverage technology normally used in gaming development by applying it to the luxury fashion space.
